Americana was a huge success upon release, debuting at number six on the US Billboard 200 chart and selling over 175,000 copies in its first week of sales. With a total of over 10 million units sold, "Americana" is the band's most commercially successful album after "Smash." In Germany, the album reached number 5 in the charts and was awarded gold
The fact that the album is one of The Offspring's biggest successes is certainly due to the punk rock evergreens like "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)," "Why Don't You Get A Job?" and "The Kids Aren't Alright" that are on Americana.
